Super Typhoon Haiyan: Relief for the Philippines

On Friday, November 8, one of the strongest storms ever to make landfall on earth devastated lives in the Philippines. As many as 10,000 lives are feared lost. Many thousands more are desperately living hour to hour, having lost homes and livelihood.

As days pass after this horrific event, the death toll continues to rise, and needs intensify as the infrastructures for food and water remain unstable, scare, and uncertain.

For the past several years, Camino Global has taken active steps toward launching a long-term ministry team in The Philippines. Missionaries from Central America, Mexico and North America have been working hard toward forming a multicultural team to serve in this country as soon as 2014.

Even though our Camino team is still a year a way from launching, your gift to Camino can go right to work today! The work of preparation we have done over the past two years has produced several strong ministry partners who are in a position to offer immediate help to those who are hurting right now.

As a Camino ministry partner, consider two ways to give and be a blessing to the people of the Philippines, both today and a year or so from today:

  1. Give to the Camino Emergency Relief FundYour gift will be distributed without delay to trusted Camino partners who are already in position to offer immediate help.
  2. Give to the Camino Expansion Field Fund to offer long-term aid. Support Camino's efforts to mobilize a multi-ethnic team of Latin Americans and North Americans who will collaborate to focus on the long-term spiritual and wholistic needs of the Philippine people.
