Intensifying the Light
As conflict and chaos continue to spread through the Middle East, it is clear that the people—particularly young adults—are exasperated with the hopeless realities surrounding their lives. Traditional philosophies and structures in many Muslim countries are being reexamined, opening new doors for the gospel. At the same time, God is raising up a new wave of emissaries “for such a time as this.” Scores of Latin-American missionaries are part of this wave.
But while Latin missionaries have proven to be very effective in these contexts, their sending churches often lack the capacity to provide on-the-job training and care to sustain their work for the long haul. Under-resourced and often unattended to, these servants can grow discouraged and overwhelmed as they live and minister in hostile environments. Recognizing the strategic importance of this new wave, Camino Global is convinced that something must be done.

Leveraging nearly three decades of experience as church planters and leaders, Dan and Sue Wicher sense God’s leading to help address this need. Their vision is to build a care team that will pursue two goals:
- First, take training and encouragement to Latin-American missionaries where they serve by making pastoral visits and ministering at regional workshops.
- Second, set up a place in Spain where missionary families with specific needs can come, decompress, and connect with resources and services.
To facilitate travel to and from North Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, Dan and Sue will establish a ministry base in Madrid.
The purpose of this effort is to heighten the effectiveness of Latin missionaries serving in the world’s most spiritually dark places.
