Ecuador Earthquake, An Urgent Need
On Saturday, April 16, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Ecuador with devastating consequences. Thousands are injured and displaced, and the death toll is well over 500. The magnitude and scope of this earthquake make it Ecuador's worst disaster in 60 years. The need is urgent.
In cooperation with our partner, the Evangelical Missionary Church of Ecuador, Camino Global is responding by helping to provide for those who have suffered the loss of loved ones, houses and belongings. There will be some significant long term needs to be addressed, but right now the needs could not be more tangible. They are asking for our help.
Our church partners in Ecuador are collecting basic supplies and moving them into the affected areas. Camino wants to come alongside them to encourage and strengthen them to continue. The situation is changing day by day, and the response will adapt to meet the most urgent needs.
The Church in Ecuador has taken Psalm 46 to heart during this time of tremendous difficulty...
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."
Will you stand with our Ecuadorian brothers and sisters? Your gift will help the Church in Ecuador help those in great need.
