Business as Mission: The Impact of Hope Coffee

Launched in 2009, Hope Coffee sells high quality Honduran coffee beans to individuals, churches and businesses in order to assist Camino in meeting its disciple-making goals among Spanish speakers.

With the profits of Hope Coffee, Honduran churches are empowered to provide water and shelter for families in need. These servant-evangelism projects provide opportunities to share the Gospel. Drinking coffee can change lives!

During Hope Coffee's first year, over 30 families from Honduran churches were provided with water and shelter. Many heard the Gospel story, and close to 20 made decisions for Christ!

In early 2012, Hope Coffee sent an offering to local churches in the south of Honduras that helped eight families with floors and roofs that had been damaged by flooding. A local pastor wrote:

"One of the families was a young couple with three small boys. Their only piece of furniture was a bed with a cane bottom. They had two hammocks, but every other thing they owned was hung in plastic grocery bags from the branches that supported the thatch roof. The flood had washed out their mud floor and about a meter high of the walls of their adobe house. The church arrived in the morning and started bringing the floor up to level, then we poured a slab. By afternoon we had finished the entire floor. During the project, several people had the opportunity to share Christ with them."
